We are a group of volunteers who have been caring for and about Gardom Lake since 1992.  We provide educational materials for residents and visitors about how they can help to maintain and improve the health of Gardom Lake. Originally known as the Friends of Gardom Lake, our group was incorporated as the Gardom Lake Stewardship Society (GLSS) in 2015.

We are dedicated to preserving and protecting the natural, historic and economic values of Gardom Lake and its surrounding foreshore and watershed.

  • Brought stakeholders together toward the creation of the Gardom Lake Management Plan

  • Highlighted the values of the Lake in the Lake Management Plan

  • Helped to move ahead the "electric motors only" status of Gardom Lake

  • Voiced our concerns about changes to boat launch access on the Lake

  • Coordinates control efforts which are reducing Yellow Flag Iris around the lake

  • Participates in water sampling (since the mid 1990's)
